PRAYER POINT - April 23, 2014

The team is making good progress and are so grateful for your support and your prayer.

The prayer point is not only a guide of where they are on the journey but is also hopefully giving you a moment to pause to ponder your own great commission and to what and where God has called you; the King and his Kingdom need each is to grow and advance in our own "Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and ends of the earth".

David will be interviewed on the road again today. To listen to Jonathan Bellamy chatting to David, go to www.crossrhythyms.co.uk click on the red listen link at the top on the right, choose your device and get excited as your hear first hand some of what God is doing in the Holy Land! The planned time for the airing of the interview is 4h15pm UK time - that is 5H15pm SA time.

Thank you again for partnering with David and the team, your time and effort is much appreciated.

PRAYER POINT - April 17th, 2014

With Easter here, what a significant time for us all to stop, remember and give thanks.

David and the team will do a long hard push into the miles today and it is very hot with lots of steep hills ahead, they will commence walking the roads again probably on Monday. They will spend the weekend quiet and resting, as well as taking in some of the sights in their surrounding area and they have some good local options to consider for their Sunday celebrations.

Thank you again for your time, support and prayers. If you would like to send this newsletter on to anyone - please do. If there are any folks that you want to add to the mailing list and I save you some time of sending on! - send me their names and details and I will gladly send it directly. Please also get the word out to like the WTGC2014 Facebook page, the team so enjoys seeing who is reading and who is liking and they appreciate all your comments, the world wide web gives us all - from many corners of the world - an amazing opportunity to bring real time encouragement to friends and family on a great adventure for our Risen Lord.

PRAYER POINT - April 16th, 2014

The team is certainly doing better and whilst there are many miles behind them there are still many in front of them.

Please continue to pray for the servant love of Jesus to be displayed through each of them in all that they do.

PRAYER POINT - April 14th, 2014

David is walking today from just north of Gilgal. Please continue to pray for the health of the team; whilst David is mostly recovered, his physical strength is not 100%, especially considering that he is walking many miles on most days.

David, Carol and the team are staying in a little village that is nestled among farmlands and that has Mt. Tabor (Mount of Transfiguration) in the distance. They celebrated Shabbat together with some sweet fellowship and were again so grateful for all your support and prayer.

David will be doing another interview with Jonathan Bellamy from on the road, this will be broadcasted at 16h15 UK time (or 17h15 RSA time) on the CityDrive time slot, you can tune in and listen on www.crossrhythms.co.uk.

PRAYER POINT - April 11th, 2014

The team are doing well and are settled into their new accommodation. The health of the team is much improved but your prayers would be great for their continued strength in the Spirit, soul and body. They still have many high ways and byways to walk!

April-11

PRAYER POINT - April 10th, 2014

Again, many thanks for all the messages and 'likes' that the team are getting, your support is so appreciated, and your prayers are instrumental for the team as they come before God each day and trust for the Spirit of the Living God to lead them and guide each step they take.

PRAYER POINT - April 9th, 2014

PRAYER POINT - April 8th, 2014

The team as a whole is strong in Spirit but all still suffering physically, they are all recovering from the flu very slowly and their physical strength has not retuned fully.   Their next leg of the journey is to walk from Jerusalem to Jericho, but this is a mountainous region and the walking could take further toll on their recovery. Please pray specifically for their health and physical strength.

Note of FEEDBACK:

David Cape @footwasher1

The quickest way to put ones life in perspective is to weigh it against a dying Saviour.

cckImages from last nights service at King of Kings Community. We collected the second letter from the church here in Jerusalem and they prayed over the team. What a great time we had!

PRAYER POINT - April 6th, 2014

Many thanks for all the responses and scriptures on email and also on the FB page, the team appreciates all of your love and support.

David is still not so well - so a specific prayer for his health and strength would be great.

PRAYER POINT - April 5th, 2014

The team are resting today but David is not feeling well so your prayer for his healing and the health of the whole team would be appreciated.

PRAYER POINT - April 4th, 2014

wtgc2014-18Walking into Jerusalem, feeling overwhelmed, I was reminded of King David's words as he purchased ground on Mt Zion for the Lords temple. The Lord does not want from us that which costs nothing.

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY

2 Samuel 24:24 - However, the king said to Araunah, "No, but I will surely buy it from you for a price, for I will not offer burnt offerings to the LORD my God which cost me nothing " So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen...

Note of FEEDBACK:

Dave and Jon walking towards Jerusalem.

PRAYER POINT - April 3rd, 2014

wtgc2014-12Meeting with the Mayor of Bethlehem reminded me that we all must not underestimate the place of influence each of us has for His Kingdom. You are His planting.

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY:

John 11:48 "If we let Him go on like this, all men will believe in Him."

Note of FEEDBACK:

David Cape @footwasher1

Great meeting with the Mayor of Bethlehem today. A Christian lady who understands Kingdom.

PRAYER POINT - April 2nd, 2014

wtgc2014-15Walking through Judea amongst the Arab people this week, I've been reminded that those outside our immediate circle (our Jerusalem) may see things differently to what we're accustomed. That's why Jesus gave us the parable of the Good Samaritan. Have you discovered your Judea yet?

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY:

Luke 10:29 But wishing to justify himself, he said to Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"

Luke 10:33 "But a Samaritan, who was on a journey came unto him, and when he saw him, he felt compassion.

Note of FEEDBACK:

David Cape @footwasher1

Never allow the culture of your faith to supersede the truth of God's word.

Points of PRAYER:

We have two specific prayer requests.

1. We need an interpreter.

2. Divine protection and guidance for the team.

PRAYER POINT - April 1st, 2014

Whilst walking in the Arab areas yesterday, we encountered those who were kind to the gospel and others who were aggressive. It's the same no matter where you are! That's why LOVE conquers.

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY:

So he answered and said, " 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and 'your neighbor as yourself.'Luke 10:27

FEEDBACK:

The team is off for the second day of walking in Palestinian territory.

David Cape @footwasher1

Just come off the road after day 1 of Walking the Great Commission.. Had much favour amongst the Palestinians. Some great encounters. PTL!

Points of PRAYER:

We have two specific prayer requests.

1. We need an interpreter.

2. Health for the team. (Hennie is much better, David and Rhonda Lettow are not. Divine protection for Dave and Carol and Jon.

PRAYER POINT - March 31st 2014

wtgc2014-5As we begin the physical Walk of the Great Commission, might you begin your own personal journey of discovery in the Great Commission.

Scripture of the Day:

The mind of a man plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps. Proverbs 16:9

Note of FEEDBACK:

David and the team arrived safely and are settled into their accommodation. They begin walking today. The teams hearts are full of anticipation and expectation.

David Cape @footwasher1

'It's impossible said pride. It's risky said experience. It's pointless said reason. Give it a try whispered faith.'

David Cape @footwasher1

Great to wake up just outside Jerusalem this morning. Surreal to reflect on all that has transpired here over thousands of years.

Points of PRAYER:

wtgc2014-9Guidance and decision for the best avenue of transportation in and out of the Palestinian area.

Interpreters...favor in that someone will pick up our cause and want to walk with us.

Peace, Safety and breakthrough as they walk.

Prayer Points and Proposed Itinerary for Walking the Great Commission 2014

Dear Friends and Partnering Churches,

This proposed itinerary is being sent to you so that you can pray with us. The word ‘proposed’ is there purely because as much as David and the team will plan ahead, the desire is to be led by the Holy Spirit. So with that in mind please pray with us – pray over this plan and ask our gracious Father in Heaven to continue to guide every step, every phone call, every travel and accommodation arrangement, every meeting and all the preparation for this journey.

Download the "Prayer Flash" PDF below for the full update.
